I'm London born and California raised, with over a decade's experience writing and editing. I never go anywhere without a book, because even though I spend my working hours reading and writing, I still find there's nothing like a good story to keep me company at meals or on the Tube (yep, I'm back in London now!).
I began offering my book-building services after several years of developmental editing. I had noticed that many of my clients were reaching me too late – they were sending me complete manuscripts that needed to be totally rewritten. I realized that if they had my help from the beginning, they could sidestep the problems I was seeing again and again and write a genuinely readable and sellable manuscript. I started ghostwriting at around the same time. I work equally comfortably in US and UK English, according to the needs of my clients. Some of my favorite things that aren't book-related:
I look forward to getting to know you as we work together to bring your ideas to the page. |
"Our firm uses Stephanie’s services so regularly that we don't even remember how many editing jobs she has done for us. She is surprisingly willing to go the extra mile virtually every time. What delighted me personally was that she quickly learned my style and has adapted to my fairly distinct language pattern. When Stephanie insists on things, even the professors among us have learned to trust her judgment."
