There’s a story inside you that the world needs. Maybe it’s fiction, maybe it’s personal history, but either way it needs to be compellingly told and to keep readers hooked from the first page to the last sentence. There are tricks to this trade and roads through a novel or memoir that I can help you navigate.
If you know what story you want to tell but you could use some help telling it, this might be the service for you.

“Stephanie is a delight to work with. She helps you nurture your writing into the best it can be, letting you know what can be improved, added, and rewritten. At the same time she is also very encouraging, charming, and friendly too. With positive notes and clear understanding of what she is doing, she has become one of my biggest writing cheerleaders.”

How it works
- We get on the phone and discuss your story, your target audience, and your goals for the book. We'll look at your outline if you have one and begin building one together if you don’t yet.
- Once you’re happy with your outline, you take it away and use it to write your first chapter. As soon as it’s ready, you send it to me.
- I put my editing hat on and comb through your prose, taking a look at your pacing, storytelling, character introductions, and use of language. I'll also look for any of the cardinal sins of fiction and memoir writing, so we can course-correct right away.
- We schedule a call to talk through your first chapter, its strengths and weaknesses, and the reasons for any changes I’ve suggested. I'll show you any simple adjustments you can make to improve the flow of your language, and if you're falling into any of the major traps of writing narratives, I'll show you how to escape. This ensures you’re not making basic mistakes that will need to be corrected in every chapter to come.
- You either rewrite the chapter now or continue on with the next one. Expect every chapter to need at least two drafts to be ready for publication, but you can choose whether to revise as we go or to do a full revision when you have finished a draft.
- Every two weeks, we meet for a call and review your latest work. I’ll guide you on what you’re doing right and what needs to change. And before you know it, your manuscript will be complete. Voila!
On average, start to finish, it takes three or four months to write a novella (about 15,000–50,000 words) and about nine months to write a full-length book (60,000–100,000 words). I encourage you to aim for two to three chapters per month, and our call schedule is set up to help you meet that goal.
Together, we break your book down into manageable chunks so the writing process doesn’t become overwhelming. And the fact that you always have another call with me coming up in the calendar will push you to stick to your goals and actually get your book written.
